Trekking In Nepal: Treacherous Treks To Challenge Your Nerves In 2022!

Annapurna Base Camp Trek

This one is an eight-thousander with extremely beautiful landscapes and exceptionally blessed with diverse landscapes throughout the trek. The trek is categorized in the moderate to difficult range to overcome. Yet this 10 days long demanding trek in the Himalayas does not stop the adrenaline-fueled junkies from trekking this wonder. The trek is approximately 67 kms long, where the trekkers hike for 10 km per day. The stunning views begin right when you depart from Pokhara.

Due to its tremendous height in the eight thousands, there are tons of preparation and trekking gears that one needs to pack for the trek. Right from the oximeter, high altitude medical kit, oxygen cylinders, etc. There is also an extra day included in the itinerary of this trek which gives the trekkers a racket of one more day to complete in case of unfavorable weather conditions. The topography takes you from Annapurna forest, Ghandruk village, Sinuwa from where the sanctuary begins and paddy fields cover the land, Annapurna Glacier, and some awesome places like Machapuchare base Camp, Gangapurna and Hiunchuli.

Langtang Trek

Langtang trek is the definition of eternal unbound and undefeated beauty. The Langtang area was severely damaged during the 2015 massive earthquake in Nepal. Yet despite that, the area has been reconstructed and recovered and ready to welcome the trekkers again. Langtang trek may not be in the eight thousanders club, yet its 4700 m makes up for some of the breathtaking views of the infinite valley and landscapes. The trek is easily accessible via Kathmandu and takes 11 day to complete. It is the trek ranges in the easy to moderate scale with Syabru Besi as its base. The trek trail from Syabru Besi is where the actual adventure begins. The trek trails take you from thick dense forests to alpine meadows, rivers to Buddhist Gompas to a 360 degree panoramic view of the majestic Himalayas. 

Upper Mustang Trek

Upper Mustang Trek is the ‘black sheep’ of the treks in Nepal. Unlike the beautiful vibrant trek with flowers and thick dense forest of Nepal, this one is the arid desert beige landscape trek. The region has a long ancient history where it was once a Buddhist Kingdom of Lo Mangthang.  After being isolated and abandoned for ages, the region has developed its own culture and aura amidst its own stark desert. The trek lasts for 12 days and starts from Jomsom, where the highest elevation is 3800 m. The landscape is mostly arid and consists of grand cliffs and awesome views. It lies in the rain shadow of the Himalayas which is the best place to be during the summers. The trek trail is moderate in the scale of difficulty level. 

Everest Base Camp
